I was reading my msn home page this morning and read an article about John McCaine saying it was 130 degrees in Iraq. The article went on to say that it has never been that hot there. The highest temp ever recorded in the middle east was in Saudi Arabia at 124. Ihe article went on to say it depends on where the themomitor(my spelling is wrong I'm sure)is placed. Talk about nit picking, The liberal media jumps on anything they can find. I'm sure McCain wasn't walking around with a themomitor in hand. Anything over a 100 seems extremly hot to me. Given the long sleaves and all the equipment the soldiers must carry it must seem 130 if not higher. Hot is Hot. Our soldiers do a tremendous job under horrible conditions. We are there, so our whole country needs to stand behind our soldiers. After all they are protecting all of us. This may be a small thing but its always the small ones that really tick me off. The opinion of a soldiers mom and a soldiers grandma.
I've been really busy the last couple of weeks. Doing a lot of extra at work, so haven't had much time to be online.
I've noticed lately about every time I listen to the news there is another account of a child murdered. Usually the murderer is the mothers live in boyfriend. Sometimes the mother is guilty of helping the boyfriend or at the very least not defending her child. These kinds of crimes just tear me apart. I don't understand what is happening to our society.
Keep your words sweet....You may have to eat them. unknown
Everytime I've said "Will I'd never do that" it has usually come back on me. Kind of like "What goes around comes around" or "they'll get theirs in the end" Anyway I don't like eating my own words, so to speak. Sometimes I find it better to just say nothing.
My granddaughter called her mom today and she is doing great. She gave her battle buddy a IV and battle buddy gave her one and all went well. She said this week she has to go through the gas chamber.Said she wasn't scared but is a little nervous about it. I'm sure she'll do fine. She really likes the training. Said her drill sergents were good guys for the most part. So I guess all is well at Fort L W.
Earlier in the week my mom called and asked me to go with her and my aunt to a fall fest this Saturday. So, yesterday I arose early, drank my usual pot of coffee, and set out. The air had a fall like crispness to it, and I took my time and enjoyed the scenery. Indiana is quite a beautiful state, and I don't take the time to appreciate the natural beauty often enough. My mom fixed a early lunch for us and then we went to the small historic town where the festivil was being held. We had a great time. We laughed a lot, enjoying each others company. I bought a lot of handcrafted Christmas decorations and a few books. My mom got enough reading material for the next 2 winters. It was one of those times I didn't want to see come to a end.
